How many servings can each cake size serve?  

This serving guide is based on anywhere from 2-inch thick to 1-inch thick serving sizes.



All our round cakes are made up of 3 layers of cake sponge and 2 thin layers of buttercream icing.

6” ROUND - 8 to 12 servings

7" ROUND - 12 to 15 servings

8” ROUND - 15 to 20 servings

9” ROUND - 25-30 servings

10” ROUND - 30 to 35 servings



All our slab cakes are made up of 2 layers of cake sponge and 1 thin layer of buttercream inside.

1/4 SLAB - 20 to 25 servings

1/3 SLAB - 30 to 35 servings

1/2 SLAB - 45 to 50 servings

2/3 SLAB  - 70 to 75 servings

FULL SLAB - 85 to 100 servings


6" & 4" - 15-20 servings

7" & 5" - 20-25 servings

How does the Cupcake Walk-In Special work? 

We offer a Walk-In Selection of 10-12 assorted flavours of our Regular-Sized Nut-Free Cupcakes in-store everyday. Flavours vary everyday. You may just come in and choose from our available selection. 

Our special walk-in price is $21.50 for half a dozen (6 pieces) and $42 for a dozen (12 pieces), while each cupcake is $3.75 each. Prices on our online menu vary depending on the flavour you pick.  We bake in small batches so our available stock may vary throughout the day depending on how busy the store is.  


Please PRE-ORDER thru our website if you need more than 2 dozen cupcakes. Also, if you need specific flavours we highly encourage you to pre-order.

Our MINI CUPCAKES and REGULAR-SIZED VEGAN, VEGETARIAN AND GLUTEN-SMART CUPCAKES are NOT part of the Walk-In Special and must ALWAYS be pre-ordered.  You may order them here on our online menu or call the store at 905-285-0992 at least 2-5 days before your pick-up date (lead time for pre-orders vary from 2-5 days from week to week).

What is considered a "custom order"?

Anything that can't be ordered on our Online Order Menu is considered a custom order.  We generally ask for at least 3-5 weeks' notice when booking custom cakes, cupcakes, and sugar cookies.

Please note that quotes we give out are NEVER considered booked unless a deposit or a credit card has been pre-authorized, or an interac e-transfer has been sent.  We are very strict with this and with each inquiry, we always give specific instructions over email or over the phone about deadlines on when and how to book the orders so that there is no confusion.  We would never have a custom order ready in ALL CASES unless a payment option has been processed.

How do I book a "custom order"?


To book a custom order, as a first step, we would first ask you to send us an email with reference photos if any, and a cake size or number of servings you would need.  You may send us an email at  You can send us an inquiry directly on our Contact Us Page.

You may also schedule an in-person consult in advance at the store to make sure that we have a Lead Decorator on-staff to assist you.   


For non-custom orders, meaning items that are available on our Online Order Menu, you may drop in on any day if you prefer to make the order in person.  Non-custom orders may also be ordered over the phone or on our Online Order Menu here on this website.  As general rule, a week's notice is safest since we can cut-off orders at any time depending on the volume of orders that have been placed.

Do you have a satisfaction guarantee?

In the unlikely event that you are not happy with your dessert, please let us know about the problem within 12 hours of receipt of the product. Full or partial refunds and store credits are decided on a case-by-case basis, but our goal is always to have you leave happy. If we have made a genuine mistake (the product was not made correctly), we will certainly make it right. We are not able to offer refunds in cases where the product was baked and decorated correctly, but a flavour or texture didn't meet a personal preference. Most people love our flavours, but it's impossible to predict everyone's particular taste preferences.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Please be aware that we are unable to cancel orders with less than 7 days' notice.   This means that all online orders (in most cases) and last-minute orders and requests will be considered final and non-refundable.  


Also, all deposits for all orders are non-refundable.

How do I transport my dessert safely?

 If you choose to pick-up your dessert and transport it yourself, we are not liable or responsible for the product/s once it has left the bakery. It is best to keep the products completely FLAT.  You should prepare your vehicle so that it is clean and free from items that could roll or slide into the the product/s. We can even help you load the desserts into your car as long as you pull up to the back door of the bakery. 


We do everything in our power to provide a well-structured product, but please note that desserts are fragile. Drive carefully and slowly.  Again, please keep the products flat and level.   A non-slip mat under the product/s really helps prevent them from sliding around.

Do you offer delivery?

We can arrange for delivery based on our available delivery hours as long as it is scheduled in advance.  Please visit our Contact Page to see our delivery schedule.

You may call us at 905-285-0991 during store hours to check availability and book a delivery.  The delivery fee depends on the distance to the store.  Our delivery area is just in Mississauga at the moment. In some cases we can deliver beyond this scope depending on the volume of the order.  You may call or email us for more information regarding this.

We are not liable for the product once it has been delivered.

How do I store and serve my dessert correctly?

Aside from our cookies, all products that have been pre-ordered will always be given to you cold. 


Our cupcakes and cakes our best enjoyed when it is served close to room temperature.  For our  cupcakes, we recommend leaving them out at least 1-2  hours (depending on the season) before serving.  For our cakes, we recommend leaving them out anywhere from 2-4 hours (depending on the season) before serving and cutting.  Our signature buttercream icing is very temperature-sensitive so the consistency of it changes depending on the serving temperature. 


During the warmer months, any cake placed outside during an event has the possibility of melting or deforming due to heat because of the buttercream icing.  So please take note of this when displaying cake during outdoor events.

How do I use my  Swirls eGift Cards?

You select an amount, enter the recipient's details, set when they want the card delivered, and pay. After completing checkout, the customer receives email confirmation about the purchase.

The gift card recipient then gets an email with their unique gift card code.

To redeem the card, the recipient heads over to the Swirls site and chooses what they want to purchase. During payment, they select the Redeem a gift card option and enter their unique gift card code. 

If the price of the sale is worth more than the value of the card, customers can pay for the remaining cost using your regular payment methods.

Treat this gift card like cash. This card cannot be exchanged for cash, check or credit.

Redeemable only for online goods & products purchased at Swirls by Michelle & Miranda site not exceeding the remaining credit balance on this card.  This gift card cannot be used towards custom orders.
