About Us

We have the honoured distinction of being Mississauga's "First and Only Cupcake Shop". Carlos started Swirls in 2005, with a vision of serving beautiful and tasty nut-free desserts that everyone can enjoy. In 2017, Miranda and Michelle took over and have since then been adding their own flavours to the business. Between them, they have over 27 years of baking and decorating experience.

Ever since the very beginning, we have called Streetsville, Mississauga our home.

We understand what people with nut allergies go through, and so we take great pride and care in offering 100% nut-free products to our customers. Additionally we stay away from using gelatin, alcohol, and sesame in all of our products.

Meet Our Team

MICHELLE - CAKE DECORATOR, BAKER, K-DRAMA ADDICT

Michelle is our buttercream whiz. She is in her zone when she's creating buttercream flowers, textures, drawings, 3d shapes, or anything buttercream related really. Her favourite cupcake flavours are Cinnamon Dolcé and The Perfect Matcha.

MIRANDA - CAKE DECORATOR, BAKER, AVID POKEMON GO PLAYER

Miranda is our very own cake ninja. She can create amazing things with fondant and gumpaste. She can also cut down and slice any cake to form most any shape. If you ask her what her favourite cupcake flavour is, her answer will always be, hands-down, the Lemon Luau.

ALEX - CAKE DECORATOR, BAKER, RESIDENT FASHIONISTA

Alex is our cupcake sommelier. She can create and mix new flavours like it's no one's business. Cinnamon Dolce? Her idea. Pink Lemonade? Also hers. If you need advise on what flavours to pick for your party, she's definitely your girl.

RENATA - CAKE DECORATOR, BAKER, COFFEE AFICIONADO

Renata is such a talented baker and decorator and pretty much can take on any recipe or baking challenge we throw her way. Her positive energy is just infectious and she is our go-to for most anime- related designs. She also makes a mean Brigadeiro. ;). Her favourite cupcake flavour is either the Marbelous Swirl or the Strawberry Fields depending on her mood.

HARRIET - CUPCAKE DECORATOR, BAKER, BOOK LOVER

Harriet makes sure that our batters stay delicious and spot-on. She definitely makes her stamp on the cupcake orders and with the fondant decorations. She brings good vibes to the team for sure! Her favourite cupcake flavour is the Raspberry Beret.

ARIELLE - CUPCAKE DECORATOR, BAKER, RESIDENT ARMY ;)

Arielle is our go-to for any K-pop and BTS cake designs. If you come in on Saturdays she'll most likely be the one helping you out front. We're lucky to have another artist in our team. Her favourite flavour is the Cinnamon Dolcé.

LYN - BAKER, DECORATOR, FOODIE

She brings with her years of experience and talent in cake decorating. She is always up for any baking and decorating challenge. She also makes a really scrumptious Caramel Crunch Cake. :) Her favourite cupcake flavour is the Caramel.

VICTORIA - BAKER, CAKE DECORATOR, YOGI

She's the newest member of our team and we're so lucky to have her! She's a talented baker and decorator. She's our go-to for any dancing and yoga tips for sure. She loves anything chocolate so her favourite flavour is the Death by Chocolate.

KU - COUNTER CREW, BAKER, COFFEE EXPERT

If you've come in on a Saturday then you've definitely met Ku! He's almost always the first person to greet you on Saturdays and he always brings the good vibes with him. His favourite cupcake flavour is the Strawberry Fields.
